These are the most recent positions I have held within education. Check out each school to see my main achievements.

Principal Headteacher

Headmaster / Rector

Developed and initiated a new 5 year strategic plan, focussing on: Reading, Formative Assessment and Data Analysis and Professional Learning

Created an outdoor learning space to help in the learning of boys, in an all boys’ school.

Accredited for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in 2019 and became a IB Continuum School.

Rugby World Cup Visit in 2019

Head of School

Opened the new OWIS Nanyang campus in 2018. This included: bugeting, strategic planning, school design, staff recruitment, overseeing the redevelopment of an existing school and marketing for the project.

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of East Coast campus.

Year upon year improvement in the International Schools’ Assessment (ISA) from . If you would like to find out more about this assessment follow the link above.

Initiated the first Cambridge IGCSE examinations in the school in 2018 with a 100% pass rate from A*-E.

Founding Head of School

Founding Head of School with the responsibility for the opening of a brand-new purpose-built campus in the city of Changzhou, China in 2013.

Duties included strategic and curriculum development, ordering and resourcing, staffing (teaching and administrative), design and building quality, marketing (promotion and opening) and all day-to-day duties in the running of a growing school.

This school was renamed in 2018 as the Changwai Bilingual School .

Head of Upper School

Started and developed the Upper School, which included: design of rooms, specifying and ordering equipment, marketing and launch.

Upper School policy development: Assessment, Rewards & Sanctions and Homework.

Created a Upper School curriculum map and implemented a system for the recording of formative assessment throughout the school.

Producer and Director of a whole school production of “Bugsy Malone”. Residential trip coordinator.

Taught: English National Curriculum Years 5-9 mathematics, science, humaniites and IGCSE mathematics.

Head of Pastoral Care

Responsible for all pastoral care matters arising throughout the whole school (K to 12). This included: Admissions, Attendance tracking, Careers, Counseling, Charities, PSHE amd Student Councils.

Responsible for revising and developing several policies including: Admissions, Physical Contact and Restraint, Student Records and Attendance.

Raised the standard of assemblies in both Primary and Secondary by using the IB mission statement ethos.

Worked closely with the Head of Boarding, homeroom teachers and special needs department.

Taught: Grade 7 MYP art.

Secondary Coordinator

Designed, started and developed a new secondary school which included implementation of all secondary policies, curriculum matters and resources.

Designed a six week programme to train the Indonesian staff on implementing “best practice in teaching and learning.”

Organised and particated in several extra-curricular clubs including: volleyball, basketball, science club, photography club and rackets club.

Taught: Key Stage 3 mathematics, science, humanities, design and technology and physical education. In addition taught and developed Key Stage 2 science, history and geography.

Director of Pastoral Care

Responsible for all pastoral matters in the secondary school. This included: Attendance tracking, Tutors, Prefects, Student Council and Special Needs & Counseling Departments.

Created a Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) curriculum which incorporated Thai social and cultural issues. This was recognised in the World-wide Education Services (WES) report in 2006 which stated: “The highly effective PSHE programme was devised by the secondary Director of Pastoral Care. It consists of a full course with lesson guidance and resources for pupils so that teachers have an ‘off the shelf’ programme to use. As well as raising the quality of PSHE lessons, it is specifically written for Thailand making it relevant for the school and appropriate for all secondary pupils.”

Both developed and refined several polices including: Rewards & Sanctions, Bullying, Drugs and Sex Education.

Arranged the first ever St. John’s Senior Prom and several charitable events.

Health and Safety representative responsible for adhering to the Health & Safety policy which included: risk assessment, off-site planning, first-aid training, evacuation and emergency plans.

Taught: Key Stage 3 science, IGCSE biology, physics, chemistry and A Level chemistry.

This school closed in June 2017.

Teacher and Housemaster

A full-time member of the boarding staff, responsibly for the Senior Boys House. Participated in the weekend and holiday boarding programmes.

Taught: English as a Second Language (ESL) and chemistry.
